The world-famous Roof of Africa bike race this year attracted the largest ever group of international contenders, with their media crews in tow.
The richest off-road and enduro motorcycle race in Southern Africa, with a total prize money of R100 000, the Roof of Africa is the biggest single sporting event in Lesotho.
The three-day race over 500km attracted some 30 internationals from 14 countries other than South Africa, which ensured media exposure in countries from every continent.
Lesotho Tourism Development Corporation acting CEO Ms Ntabiseng Monoko said media coverage of the country’s untouched beauty, the Maluti Mountains and the wonderful indigenous people would go far in promoting the country as a desirable destination. “An event such as this goes far in fulfilling our mission of Lesotho as a preferred adventure tourist destination.”
